Welcome to our school! Our namesake, Bob Hope, entertainer and comedian, brought joy, happiness and laughter to many people during his lifetime. At heart, he was a child who engendered the spirit, wit, and intellect that is now emulated within our school. We stand alone, as the only U.S. primary school on the island of Okinawa. Our programming is complex and varied, addressing an ethnically diverse population with a wide range of abilities, languages, and socio-economic backgrounds. With a school population averaging around 600 students, we educate children from pre-school through second grade. In addition, we have an extensive Special Education program designed to meet the needs of all students through the use of carefully designed individual educational plans. Bob Hope Primary School enjoys an active exchange with its host country educators and students. We foster within our children an appreciation of the historical richness that exists in the Okinawan culture.
¡Bienvenidos a nuestra escuela! Nuestro tocayo, el Señor Bob Hope, artista y comediante, repartió alegría, felicidad y risa a muchas personas durante su vida. En su corazón, él era un niño que engendró el espíritu, ingenio e intelecto que ahora se emula dentro de nuestra escuela. Somos la única escuela primaria de los Estados Unidos en la isla de Okinawa. Nuestra programación es compleja y variada, dirigida a una población étnicamente diversa con una amplia gama de capacidades, idiomas y fondos socioeconómicos. Educamos alrededor de 600 estudiantes desde el tiempo preescolar hasta el segundo grado.
